RIQUO (formerly Pantry AI) is a pantry, recipe, and shopping list app. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and who it is shared with.
With your permission, the app uses your camera and photo library so you can scan receipts, pantry items, and recipe photos, so you can choose a profile photo, and so you can share a photo of a dish you cooked (only when you choose to). With your permission, the app uses your microphone only while you hold the voice button to add pantry items by speaking them. The app never accesses your camera, photos, or microphone in the background.
If you allow notifications, RIQUO schedules reminders directly on your device (for example, when a pantry item is about to expire, or a weekly note about popular recipes). They are created on your phone from your own pantry data; we do not use a push notification service or send your pantry to anyone for them. You can turn each type off in Settings → Notifications or in your phone's settings.
RIQUO's AI features are powered by OpenAI. Before any of your data is sent to OpenAI, the app asks for your permission. If you allow it, then when you use an AI feature the following is sent to OpenAI's API, through our server, to process that request:
Nothing is sent to OpenAI unless you use an AI feature. Our server passes these requests to OpenAI and returns the result; it does not keep your photos, PDFs, or voice recordings. OpenAI processes this data under its API data usage policies, which do not use API data to train its models by default and may retain it for a limited time (up to 30 days) for abuse monitoring. If you choose not to allow AI processing, you can still add and manage items manually. You can turn AI processing off at any time in Settings → AI Processing; the app will ask again before sending anything.
Only to provide the app's features: tracking your pantry, generating recipe suggestions, managing your shopping list and meal history, syncing your data across your devices and with members of your shared pantry, and fixing crashes and bugs. Allergies and dietary restrictions are used only to tailor recipe suggestions.
If you join a shared pantry, other members of that pantry can see its pantry items and shopping list.
Household members: members of a shared pantry can see who else belongs to it — each member's display name and profile photo (if set), the date they joined, and a partly hidden email address (for example, ke•••@gmail.com). Your full email address is shown only to you. This list is visible only to members of that pantry; leaving the pantry removes you from it. Anyone who has a pantry's invite code can join it, so share the code only with people you trust.
Popular recipes: when you tap ♥ on an AI-generated recipe, the recipe itself (its name, description, ingredients, and steps) is added anonymously to RIQUO's Popular recipes, where other users can see it and how many likes it has. Your name, email, pantry, and which recipes you liked are never shown to anyone. Recipes you import from photos or PDFs are never shared. Removing the ♥ removes your like, and deleting your account deletes all of your likes.
Cook photos ("I made this"): if you choose to share a photo of a recipe you made, the photo is uploaded and added to that recipe in Popular recipes, where other signed-in users can see it. You choose whether your first name and last initial (from your display name, for example "Keith B.") appear with it; otherwise it is shown as "a RIQUO cook". Every photo passes an automatic content check (OpenAI's moderation service) and is reviewed by us before anyone else can see it. Photos are stored on Cloudflare R2 at an unlisted web address. Other users can report a photo or hide all photos from its author. Your email, pantry, and account details are never shown with a photo. Deleting your account deletes your shared photos.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising or tracking.
We use the following service providers, which process data only to run the app:
To delete your RIQUO account and associated personal data:
If you no longer have the app installed, email keithbundy11@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within 30 days.
What gets deleted: your account credentials, profile (display name and photo), personal preferences, saved recipes, and meal tracking history, recipe likes, shared recipe photos, AI usage counts, and subscription status are permanently deleted immediately. If you signed in with Apple, RIQUO's access to your Apple ID is also revoked.
Subscriptions: deleting your account does not cancel a RIQUO Plus subscription. Cancel it in your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings.
What may be retained: if you were a member of a shared household pantry, pantry items you added remain visible to other members of that pantry (ownership is removed, but shared inventory data is not deleted, since it belongs to the household, not just you).
RIQUO is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
